Review of skyalo.com
Burning Man 2025 was dust, chaos, art, and magic - but the one thing I absolutely didn’t expect to work flawlessly in the middle of nowhere? My internet.
I activated Skyalo before flying to Nevada. No plastic SIM, no airport kiosks, no “hope this works” moments. Landed in the U.S., turned on data - boom. Connected.
Now, yes, I know Black Rock Desert isn’t exactly downtown Manhattan. But between Reno prep runs, coordinating with our camp, sharing live updates, checking weather alerts, and navigating logistics - Skyalo just worked. No weird roaming fees. No “why is this $300?”. No drama.
What impressed me most was the stability during the days leading up to the festival and right after Exodus when everyone tries to reconnect to civilization at the same time. My data speeds stayed solid enough for uploads, maps, messaging, and even short video clips.
I streamed parts of our art installation build to friends back home. Posted sunrise shots. Managed last-minute supply runs. And didn’t once think about my connection - which is honestly the highest compliment.
Burning Man teaches radical self-reliance. Skyalo felt like radical digital reliability.
If it can handle prep week in Nevada dust season, it can handle pretty much any trip.
Will definitely use it again for my next adventure.
